Copper woke up on her futon, still not quite use to sleeping on anything that wasn’t the ground and looked astonished at her new arm. Never had she thought she would get the help of an inventor…Not that she exactly wanted it before, but that was beside the point. Sighing, Copper grabbed her cane, wincing as she stood on the skeleton-like remains of her mechanical leg; the metal cut into her flesh as it had for the past three months, soon she would go to Jack to get the replacement. Something she was looking forward to but dreading at the same time. The pain was excrucitating when Jack separated the tendons from the remains of her old arm, who knew how painful the leg would be. But until that day came, she would have to live with it, heavens know she had done worse.
After getting dressed and eating one of the strange circular foods Miss. Maggie had left her, called a ‘bagel,’ she made her way down the stairs, breathing in the sweet smell of fresh flowers. Copper flipped the sign on the door over to ‘OPEN’ and waited.
Miss. Maggie’s Flower Emporium was now open for business.
